The Environment
The beverage industry has been out front on adoption of solar power. Many of our brewers and winemakers have successfully converted part, if not all, of their electric consumption to solar. We’ve joined the move to clean energy and installed these panels on the rooftop of the Savannah offices and warehouse. For now, the array provides a significant offset of electric costs — and we’ve still got plenty of sunlit roof left for expansion.
This installation produces 113 kW from 342 solar panels. That will generate an average of 169,000 kWh annually. That’s great news when it comes to the electric bill — but even more significant when environmental aspects are considered. This installation will offset 119 metric tons of carbon annually. How much carbon is that? It is equivalent to 25 vehicles driven for one year, 13,300 gallons of gas driven, or 17 homes electricity use for one year.
